About water

Water is the most important resource we have. Everyone knows that. But not everyone knows why it's so important. We're here to show you.

You Are Water

The average adult is around 60-70% water. The average child is around 70-80% water. Why do children have a higher percentage of water in their bodies? Because they're not as dehydrated as you are.

75% of people

on this planet are chronically dehydrated. Dehydration is the primary cause of aging. Similar to a piece of dried fruit, thats you, without water. You should drink more of it. But only the good stuff.

4 Litres a day

That's how much water you should be drinking every single day. We're not talking tap or bottled water either. We're talking pure water.

water is life.

There is no life without water. We need it to survive, but only 1% of the worlds water is drinkable. 3.4 million people die each year from water-related causes.

We have a problem...

Our water, the stuff we need to live, is being contaminated on a daily basis. Industry, atmospheric pollution, and human intervention in general are causing our potable water supply to decrease on a daily basis.

So what do we do about it?

Dealing with water pollution is something that everyone (including governments and local councils) needs to get involved with. Here are a few things you can do to help. Learning about the issue is the greatest and most important step to take. Here are a few more:

Never throw rubbish away. Always look for a suitable waste bin. If there are none around, please take it home and put it in your trash can. This includes places like the beach, riverside and water bodies. Every little bit helps.

Use water wisely. Do not keep the tap running when not in use. Also, you can reduce the amount of water you use in washing and bathing. If we all do this, we can significantly prevent water shortages and reduce the amount of dirty water that needs treatment.

Buy more environmentally safe cleaning liquids for use at home and other public places. They are less dangerous to the environment.

Do not throw chemicals, oils, paints and medicines down the sink drain, or the toilet. In many cities, your local environment office can help with the disposal of medicines and chemicals. Check with your local authorities if there is a chemical disposal plan for local residents. If there isn’t, maybe you could do something to help, by contacting your local council member and asking “why not?”. Get the ball rolling. One persons voice can make a huge difference.

If you use chemicals and pesticides for your gardens and farms, be mindful not to overuse pesticides and fertilizers. This will reduce runoffs of the chemical into nearby water sources. Start looking at options ofcomposting and using organic manure instead.

If you live close to a water body, try to plant lots of trees and flowers around your home, so that when it rains, chemicals from your home does not easily drain into the water.
